Purpose of the Privacy Policy

This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) explains how we process data, including personal data, in connection with the use of the website at https://www.pipc.org.pl/ (the “Website”).

This Privacy Policy fulfils the information obligation arising from Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (Text with EEA relevance) (GDPR).

Who is the controller of your personal data?

The controller of your personal data is the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry (Polska Izba Przemysłu Chemicznego), with its registered office in Warsaw, at ul. Śniadeckich 17, 00-654 Warsaw, entered in the register of entrepreneurs and the register of associations, other social and professional organisations, foundations and independent public healthcare institutions maintained by the District Court for the Capital City of Warsaw in Warsaw, 12th Commercial Division of the National Court Register, under KRS number 0000015704, holding NIP: 5262170390 and REGON: 010954571 (the “Controller”).

What data do we collect?

When using the Website, you may be asked to provide some of your personal data, in particular by completing the contact form.

The personal data collected through the contact form is your email address. Providing the above data is voluntary but necessary in order to handle your enquiry.

We may also collect other personal data that you provide in the content of your enquiry. Providing such data is voluntary.

For what purposes do we process your personal data? What is the legal basis for processing your personal data?

Your data will be processed for the purpose of contacting you and handling your enquiry submitted via the contact form. The legal basis for processing your personal data is your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

In addition, your personal data will be processed for the purpose of establishing, pursuing or defending claims related to your enquiry and ensuring accountability (demonstrating the Controller’s compliance with obligations arising from the law). The legal basis for processing is necessity for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the Controller (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

How long do we retain your personal data?

Data processed for the purpose of handling your enquiry will be retained for the period necessary to handle your enquiry and any further correspondence. The retention period may in each case be extended by the limitation period for claims if the processing of your personal data is necessary for the establishment or pursuit of potential claims or the defence against such claims by the Controller.

Do we disclose data to third parties?

Your personal data may be transferred to entities processing personal data on our behalf (processors), whereby such entities process data under an agreement concluded with us, and the transfer of such data is subject to security measures and our supervision. Your data may also be disclosed to entities authorised to receive it under the law. Your data may be disclosed to other third parties only if separate consent to such disclosure has been given.

Do we transfer your personal data to third countries?

We will not transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

What rights do you have in relation to the personal data we process?

You have the right to access and rectify your data, the right to request erasure or restriction of processing, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent at any time (withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal), and the right to object.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority responsible for personal data protection (the President of the Personal Data Protection Office) if you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR.

Right to object

You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, on grounds relating to your particular situation, where the processing is carried out for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us. In such a case, we will cease processing your data for those purposes unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for processing those data which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or unless we need the data for the potential establishment, pursuit or defence of claims.

Do we profile your personal data or make automated decisions concerning you?

We do not use profiling or automated decision-making.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

The Website’s offering may expand over time. Technologies, standards and legal requirements will also change. This means that we may amend the Privacy Policy in the future. Using the Website after such changes enter into force constitutes acceptance of them.

Processing of personal data in connection with PIPC events

1. The controller of the personal data of participants in PIPC events and statutory meetings (hereinafter: “Events”) is the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry[1].

3. The personal data of participants in PIPC Events will be processed for the purposes of:

a) Taking steps aimed at ensuring that you are able to participate in Events (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

b) Fulfilling the legal obligations incumbent on the organiser, in particular those arising from tax and accounting regulations (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).

c) Pursuing purposes arising from the legitimate interests pursued by PIPC, including in particular carrying out PIPC’s statutory tasks, ensuring the safe and uninterrupted conduct of organised events, as well as the potential establishment, pursuit or defence of claims, or for archival (evidentiary) purposes to safeguard information in the event of a legal need to demonstrate PIPC’s interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

d) In any other case – provided that your written consent has been obtained (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).

4. The participant data processed by the organiser are: first name and surname, business name of the entrepreneur, business address and correspondence addresses, telephone number, identification numbers, position and place of employment, bank account number, and image.

5. By registering for an Event / purchasing a ticket / participating in PIPC statutory meetings, you consent to the processing of personal data for the purposes described in detail in this information clause and to the free-of-charge and repeated recording, public use and dissemination of your image in the form of photographs/video footage by PIPC and event partners for communication purposes and/or publication on social media concerning the given event and/or preparation of minutes and notes from recorded Events.

6. Consent to the processing and use of your image is voluntary but necessary to enable you to participate in Events. Failure to consent to the processing of your image prevents participation in PIPC Events.

7. Personal data, including your image, will be retained from the moment of registration for an event/purchase of a ticket for a period of 6 years after the end of the Event. After this time, personal data will cease to be used unless the Participant withdraws their consent before the expiry of this period.

To the extent that PIPC processes the Participant’s image, the Participant also has the right to object to specific publications and, if such an objection is made, PIPC will remove the publication from the media profile or website it administers. PIPC is responsible solely for publications of images made in electronic media administered by PIPC.

8. Personal data may be disclosed:

a) To the extent necessary to carry out the statutory tasks of the Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry.

b) To entities authorised to receive them under the law.

c) To entities processing data under an agreement concluded for this purpose (accounting, legal services, etc.).

d) To other third parties after obtaining separate consent.

9. Event participants have the right to: access and rectify their data, request erasure or restriction of processing, withdraw consent at any time, data portability, object to the processing of data, and lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.

10. The Polish Chamber of Chemical Industry does not use functionalities enabling profiling or automated decision-making on the basis of the personal data provided.

11. Personal data may be transferred outside the EEA or to foreign organisations of which PIPC is a member, where necessary and with an adequate level of protection ensured, primarily through: cooperation with entities processing personal data in countries for which an appropriate European Commission decision has been issued, or the use of standard contractual clauses issued by the European Commission.
